Havoc Underground - Interview
Red Lion Recording Studio has become a renowned name in Florida's music scene, collaborating with numerous local acts, some of which will perform at Florida Underground Fest 3 (FUF). Recognizing their impact, FUF proudly welcomes Red Lion as a sponsor. In a revealing interview with co-owner Caine, the studio's origins were traced back to its 2013 establishment by Gustavo and a former partner, evolving with Caine's involvement in 2014. Red Lion offers a comprehensive range of services from recording and mixing to producing, mastering, and potential expansion into songwriting, re-amping, and more. The dynamic partnership between Caine and Gustavo has been pivotal to Red Lion's success. Vintage King Audio - Interview
Red Lion Audio, located near Orlando, Florida, is a go-to studio for recording, mixing, and mastering, with over a decade of experience under engineers Gustavo Porras and Caine Lee. Specializing in punk, metal, and hardcore, their setup includes an API The Box 2 Console, Burl Audio B80 Mothership, and notable outboard gear. The studio's layout features distinct areas for work and recording, with a focus on handpicked gear for efficient, high-quality production. Gustavo's appreciation for the API console lies in its punchy sound and practicality for hands-on mixing. Essential gear like the Smart Research C1LA Compressor and SSL Fusion play key roles. Their microphone arsenal includes Upton 251, Neumann U87, Royer Labs R-121, Beyerdynamic M 160, Coles 4038, and AEA R84A. Gustavo's recent addition, a Burl Audio B80 Mothership, has significantly elevated audio quality. His techniques involve strategic sidechaining and harmonic distortion through outboard gear, influenced by the innovative sound of The Beatles' "Revolver" and Muse's "The 2nd Law".
